franz-konig

Hey there, I’m Franz Konig. Just introducing myself. I’ve been a painter and writer
for years now, which has brought me smack dab into your artistic community
despite the big ol’ stretch of miles between our homes. I call Italy my home,
that land brimming with endless charms, where the Renaissance itself kicked
off. I started getting my hands busy with drawing and painting when I was just
a tadpole at 10 years old, and I ain’t never hit the brakes since. The past few
years, I’ve taken to computer graphics to spice up my pieces, tweaking the
colors, shades, and nitty-gritty details that only a solid image processing
program can handle. I’m all in with GIMP, and let me tell y’all, it’s
chock-full of graphic fixes, as complex and exciting as a spaceship.

In my day-to-day life, I spent 40 years as a medical
doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, and trust me, I’ve seen my share of torn flesh
and blood every darn day. That’s why it ain’t no shock to find images of
bodies, nudes, and blood in my cover art. Over in Italy, I’ve penned a bunch of
tales about a small-town surgeon caught up in crimes or fishy traumas, having
to unravel the mysteries on his lonesome. And sure enough, I was the one to
whip up them covers.

The technique I’m all about these days is watercolor on
paper, the wet-on-wet kind, with colors blending and bleeding into each other,
and then I fish back the original sketch with a black pen. When it’s all said
and done, I turn that sheet into a file and fiddle with it in GIMP however I
fancy.

This daily dive into the creative pool, into the land of
make-believe and innovation, is something I hope to get y’all roped into. If
the colors and shades strike your fancy, shoot me an e-mail I’ve tacked on, and
we’ll hunt down that perfect subject and design together.Ciao.
