I’m an indie author (10+ years), editor, and nature/wildlife
photographer. Book covers are where the language side of my brain meets the
visual side. I believe that the best book covers make the reader feel
something: fear, excitement, longing … whatever it may be. In my designs, I
strive for image combinations that evoke a gut reaction/emotion. I also enjoy
playing with elements that may not seem to go together (for example, one of my
covers uses red roses to contrast an old peeling door).
When I’m not writing, editing, or cover designing, I can be
found hiding behind a tree, waiting for any variety of bird to land within
range of my camera lens.
