Designer: Petrunjela Coven Books

I was born in 1978 in Zagreb, Croatia. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2004. I am engaged in visual arts (painting, drawing, photography, collage, glitch art, installations, animation, video, multimedia). I also write poetry.

Four of my drawings were included in the Anthology of Croatian Erotic Drawing, „Eros and Pornos“, 2004. In 2006 my first poetry book was published ( „Posjekotine“). In 2023 came the second poetry book, „Black Mamba“. My work was presented in many printed and digital Croatian and international publications, among others, in A5, Gestalten, Make8elieve, Poezija, Zarez, Rijeci, Vijenac, Self-As-Subject: The Multiple Exposure Project Zine, Stigmart10 Videofocus- special edition, Il corpo solitario III and IV (Solitary body: the self-timer in contemporary photography) – antology by Giorgio Bonomi, Point Pleasant Publishing. My photography is part of four Saatchi Art Gallery collections. My drawings „Butterfly Effect“ and „Black Siren“ became a part of Artemizia Foundation in Bisbee, Arizona, USA, among works of Pablo Picasso, Jeff Koons, Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Banksy, Marina Abramovic and other great artists). I received ten  awards and acknowledgements for my work.

As a graphic designer, I created numerous book layouts. As a seasoned illustrator with more than 25 years of experience, I illustrated and visually equipped more than 30 books of various genres for children, teens, and adults for the publishing house Naklada Ljevak in Zagreb, Croatia. Many of those books come from awarded authors. One of them is a Nobel Prize winner, Norwegian author Jon Fosse.
